We're celebrating 10 years of Combat Rock Industry in the end of May!!!
On Friday 21st we're doing a show with current bands KAKKA-H€T€ 77, ABDUKTIO and DEATHBED. On Saturday 22nd the bands of CRI founders Janne and Jani, ENDSTAND and MANIFESTO JUKEBOX will take the stage one last time, and will be joined by the third original CRI group WASTED. We know there will be people all over Europe and probably from the US too and most likely it'll be sold out. So make sure to get the tickets soon if you really want to make it there. It's a big venue, but still, it's a very special event, too...

2010 means 10 YEARS OF COMBAT ROCK!!! Yep - our first release, WASTED's debut album "Suppress & Restrain" hit the streets in May 2000. It's been sold out for a couple of years already but we will have have a special limited amount of these for sale at the 10th anniversary show in May!

ABDUKTIO's self-titled vinyl-only mini-album is getting great feedback and selling quickly, thanks for the support! ABDUKTIO will play at the R'n'P Festival shows this week in Helsinki and Turku with MASSHYSTERI, NO SHAME etc.
ATOM NOTES are getting ready to record their debut album sometime in 2010. They are playing the the PATSY WALKERS one-off reunion party in Helsinki on January 16th.
DEATHBED are currently recording their 2nd album - so you will hear a lot more about them in 2010 - meanwhile you can check out studio photos on their Facebook profile.
VICTIMS will tour Europe this month with MUNICIPAL WASTE!

The year 2009 is near the end.. it was not the easiest for us but we are still here and in many ways stronger than ever! 2010 is COMBAT ROCK INDUSTRY's 10th anniversary year and there will be loads of special stuff going on, both old and new.. the main event being of course the birthday show with ENDSTAND, MANIFESTO JUKEBOX and WASTED in Helsinki on May 22nd. The tickets will be available in February.

As you can tell from the artwork, it is not their most serious release ever.. but it just might be the best one so far! Damn catchy straightforward fast punk rock but still with that Abduktio twist to it!

THE PHOENIX FOUNDATION have recorded a couple of new songs.. you can check one of them out now on their MySpace Profile. This will appear on a split 7" with Brisbane, Australia's GIFTHORSE, to be released in late November on Australia's coolest punk rock label, POISON CITY RECORDS who also did the MANIFESTO JUKEBOX / A DEATH IN THE FAMILY split.
KAKKA-HATA 77's "Ei Taa Lama Pahan Kay" 7" is sold out and won't be re-pressed at least in the near future because of continued pressing / mastering problems at the plant. It will be available for free digital download soon.

The first days of the new COMBAT ROCK SHOP have been great, thanks for your support! Feels like this was the right thing to do in every way.

First of all, ATOM NOTES and ST.HOOD are playing in Helsinki tonight, go check them out if you are around! The ST.HOOD show is all ages and early..
We are moving soon! Saturday 26th is the last day we're here in the center, on Wednesday 30th the new COMBAT ROCK SHOP will open at Vaasankatu 7 - if you're not familiar with Helsinki, just take the metro from the center, 3 stops to the Sornainen station, walk 100m and you're there! It's in the area where loads of punks/rockers/artists/drunks, myself included, live and also where you will find cool cheap bars, small venues and so on.. see you there! We have loads and loads of cool stuff in store for you, including the re-issues of the last two LAMA EPs!!!
ABDUKTIO and DEATHBED are playing in Tampere during the Lost In Music festival in October - it's kind of the Finnish version of Popkomm/South By Southwest and things like that = it's an industry meeting but with loads of shows in great small venues going on too.
In other related news, ABDUKTIO have completed the mix of their much-anticipated back-to-the-roots punk 12", due out in November!

We will be moving soon! COMBAT ROCK SHOP and our office will be located at Vaasankatu 7, next to the Sornainen metro station from September 30th on.. we will be here in the center until Saturday 26th normally - and we have loads of killer stuff, overstocks and so on for cheap, come check it out.. more and more stuff will be added to the sale bins all the time - and we will also be getting new stuff in normally all the time, so it's not just about the moving sale this month either! And of course when we open the new shop, there will be loads of brand new vinyl, CDs, merchandise and cool surprises..
We will finally get the KAKKA-HATA 77 3rd EP replacement copies from the plant next week, phew.. so, all pre-orders will be sent out as soon as possible then, and those who already got the damaged version, can bring it back and get the proper one for the shop.

ST.HOOD's "For The Dead" debuted at #13 on the national album charts!!! Sure it was amazing for Combat Rock to hold places 2 and 3 on the singles charts straight after Madonna with the Unicef and Lama re-issues two weeks ago but still.. they are two of the most legendary finnish punk rock bands ever, ST.HOOD is a modern day hard working sincere hardcore punk band... this is also the highest ever position for Combat Rock so we're extremely happy, thank you people for supporting one of best best bands around these days! Oh, and if you haven't picked up the vinyl version yet and want a limited white or clear copy, act fast!

Because of continued problems at the pressing plant, we also have to move the release of ST.HOOD's "For The Dead" LP/CD a week later.. so, it will hit the stores on Wed August 19th! With the LP you will also get a free download voucher, this is the first ever for CRI - but definitely not the last one, most likely all our future releases will b like this, it seems to be the way to go for the future..
ST.HOOD is having a release party in Helsinki on Tue 18th - it's at Semifinal and DEATHBED are opening for them, so make sure to be there!!

The release of UNICEF and LAMA re-issues 7"s and the new KAKKA-HATA 77 EP has been delayed a week because of technical problems at the pressing plant - their pressing machinery just broke down! Now that's something that hasn't happened with our releases before but.. what can you do. Now things should be OK and the records are on the way and will hit the stores soon, and we will start shipping the pre-orders as soon as we get the 7"s!
Then a band by band update of what's going on in the CRI camp, there's a lot of stuff happening, both good and band but that's life..
ABDUKTIO is hard at work recording their upcoming 12" with Antti Luukainen of Atom Notes etc. This is a departure from anything the band has released before, taking them back to their hardcorepunk roots with 8 new very harDCore influenced tracks of their own, and cover versions from Bad Brains and Descendents! This thing shoud be out in November, 12" vinyl only!
ANOTHER SINKING SHIP has broken up. But ends are new beginnings, hopefully you'll hear more from these people in the future as ANOTHER SINKING SHIP's only album "Legacy" was an amazing piece of rough melodic punk rock and promised great things to come.. well, at least it does leave a great legacy. RIP!
ATOM NOTES are working on new songs and will play live again during the fall. Many people call them a punk rock supergroup because of the members' old bands - why not, they are a supergroup but that's because of the super quality of their music!! Make sure to pick up their self-titled debut 7" before it's too late!
DEATHBED are back on the road with their new drummer and getting ready to record their second album.. they are also back to being a 4-piece powerhouse with Mika handling all the guitar duties. Simple = powerful!!!
THE HEARTBURNS' singles compilation "Too Much Drugs Too Much TV" keeps selling well in Finland - yes, here CDs do still sell - at least when they are as good as this thing!

The latest VICTIMS album "Killer" is now out on CD in Northern America on DEATHWISH INC. For the rest of the world it's still available directly from us, and so is the vinyl! So pick this d-beat rock'n'roll masterpiece up now if you haven't already! VICTIMS have just announced a tour of England in the beginning of May and will also appear at the MARYLAND DEATH FEST in the US, and the big HULTSFRED FESTIVAL in Sweden.

The PHOENIX FOUNDATION and KAKKA-HATA 77 vinyls are finally available, and definitely worth the wait! PHOENIX FOUNDATION sounds and looks so good on 140g vinyl in deluxe thick cardboard sleeve, and Jyrki Nissinen has expanded the original KH77 with more details! There are 150 white and 150 clear LPs of KH77, these are only available directly from us and Deaf Forever, or the band.
We just approved the first two RATSIA 7" test pressings.. damn they sound amazing! This is no surprise of course.. they will hit the stores in Finland on March 11th! A limited amount will be available from selected distros around the world.

Full House Records released ST.HOOD's debut album "Sanctified" back in 2005 and since that the band has toured in Finland as well as mainland Europe and received a great response all around - the band is clearly having a blast on stage, playing their catchy, explosive classic metal/thrash influenced hits! VICTIMS are now a four-piece again! Gareth Smith, formerly of Raging Speedhorn, has joined them on second guitar, and the band will hit the studio next weekend to record a new song for their long-awaited split 7" with KYLESA, to be released on LA FAMILIA RECORDS. VICTIMS will also tour the US East Coast in May/June together with ANOTHER BREATH, TRAP THEM and BLACK BREATH!

Huge thanks to everybody who supported us through the year 2008! It was a rollercoaster of different things and emotions going on.. in many ways it was our best year so far - Our record store COMBAT ROCK SHOP got a bigger space, ABDUKTIO, THE HEARTBURNS and I WALK THE LINE all sold very well (on the punk scale!) and got loads of attention in Finland, VICTIMS was one of our most popular releases ever outside Finland.. the list could go on and on.
But at the same time, the world is rapidly changing towards the worse. I guess people have always been saying the same thing over and over but now it really seems this so-called music business, yes even the punk business, is facing some things that could fundamentally change the foundation we are standing on. Downloading, the supposed death of the CD format, the economic crisis.. well, here's the deal - if you like what we do, your support means more than ever before now! All grassroots artists and labels are struggling to survive and every LP/CD/7"/shirt/person who comes to the show matters. The price of gas, van rental, and all related expenses of touring are rising but bands are not getting any more money, quite the opposite. So.. it takes more dedication to keep on pushing - but then again : this reminds me of the times 15+ years ago, when we first got into punk. It was not easy. The world would not listen. And so on.. but still we, and 1000s of other people kept going against the grain, doing what they love, having great time, travelling around the world and produced some great music in the process!
So.. don't do anything for any other reason than a true passion for whatever it is that you do! And support other people who do things you like to see, hear, taste.. have fun in 2009 and on!
What do we have in store for the upcoming year then..? To begin with, we have amazing new albums coming out from THE PHOENIX FOUNDATION and SMALLTOWN. There are loads of records coming out from great bands and we will tell more about them soon.. but there is one thing we have been working on for a long time and in 2009 it will finally happen.. we will do a RE-ISSUE SERIES OF CLASSIC FINNISH PUNK ROCK SEVEN-INCHES! There will be eight 7"s, released in batches of two, every two months or so. The first ones will be out by the beginning of March and they are:

RATSIA : Tama Hetki Ja Tulevaisuus / Ala Nayta Etta Pelkaat
Then something about things happening in very distant future.. 2010 will mark COMBAT ROCK INDUSTRY's 10th anniversary and we already have loads of plans to celebrate it with.. it seems many people have already heard about one of them so we might as well let others in on the "secret" too - but please remember it's early, you can't buy tickets yet so don't ask, we will tell as the time gets closer, but : ENDSTAND and MANIFESTO JUKEBOX will reform for the 10th anniversary show in Helsinki on May 22nd 2010! WASTED will also play at the show so all the original CRI bands will be there - the ones who made all this possible by writing great music, toured their asses off and in the process put themselves and CRI on the map! This will be a night to remember, loads of people all around the world are already making plans to come there but this is it for now!

The latest, and future, COMBAT ROCK INDUSTRY releases are available in Germany from a new distributor, simply called PUNK DISTRO. The people behind it are Micha from Plastic Bomb/Farewell, Timo from Alerta Antifascista and Stachel from La Familia. Our future releases will not be available from Broken Silence and the back-catalog will be deleted from their list as well. And we deal direct as well, so if you're interested by all means get in touch for wholesale and trades!

SMALLTOWN are currently on tour in England - unfortunately the release of their amazing new album "Implosion" had to be delayed until January 2009 because Deranged Records, who we are doing it together with, already had too many releases lined up for December. But rest assured, the album will be worth the wait!
WASTED, HERO DISHONEST and ANOTHER SINKING SHIP are currently on tour in Finland, playing great shows at packed venues! ANOTHER SINKING SHIP's debut album "Legacy" is now also available on LP - and we have a limited amount of blue vinyl, that's only available directly from us or the band!

Break down the walls! Our record store COMBAT ROCK SHOP will grow bigger in the beginning of December - the address will stay the same (Fredrikinkatu 58, 00100 Helsinki), we will get more space because our neighbor Hula Hula Boutique moved to a new place at Punavuorenkatu 4, together with Legacy Tattoo. So we will tear down the wall the used to separate the two stores and turn in to a big punk rock heaven! There will be more space for vinyl, t-shirts and so on and of course the bigger space will be way more comfortable for people - no more crawling on the dirty floor where most of the vinyls are now!
We are also in the process of building a new web-store with pictures, infos etc of all products, it has taken forever and a bunch of people have tried to get it done but finally it is at the finishing stage, can't wait to get it online for your shopping pleasure - it just takes some more time because there is so much information to type in, and more coming in all the time!
The new bigger Combat Rock Shop will be open on Monday December 1st, meanwhile please visit the current store both in the real world and online, we are here all the time as always and the shelves are full with cool new stuff!!

Thanks to everyone who showed up for the first week of the I WALK THE LINE tour with Disco Ensemble, it was a blast! This week the bands are playing in Joensuu, Oulu and Helsinki. After this IWTL has only two more shows this year, after those the band will take a short break and plan new things.. they will be back on stage in March and at the moment it looks like they will be touring Australia/New Zealand in April, and mainland Europe in May/June.. BLACK WAVE OVER THE WORLD hehe!
We just got the master for PHOENIX FOUNDATION's new self-titled album and it's on constant rotation here at the office - of all our releases ever, their last album "Falling" is the one we have listened to the most and i have a feeling this one will keep spinning on our player pretty often too! More news about the release and everything as soon as we get the artwork etc.. meanwhile you can check out the front cover of the new album on their MySpace profile
This is really non-news in a way, but.. since the band has posted news about it as well, let's say it here too. LIGHTHOUSE PROJECT's next album will not be on Combat Rock Industry. It feels weird because we started doing stuff together right from the start of the band and they have an unique vision of what they do, and we still have nothing but respect for the band.. but it's just that we don't enjoy the music they currently make enough to do what a record label should do. For me an important part of the personality of the band disappeared with the departure of their original drummer, for some people it's quite the opposite like it should be.. but anyways good luck in the future! And hey, remember that "Navigate By Heart" LP/CD, "Gift" LP/CD and the unique "Misanthropic Humanist" 7"+DVD set are still available from us, and you should check them out!

DEATHWISH INC have licensed the VICTIMS "Killer" CD for release in Northern America! For the rest of the world it's still available from us, remember it's the original pressing in a killer cool digipak!!
We are down to the last copies of the KAKKA-HATA 77 "WTC Rajahtaa" 7". The last 100 copies come with green sleeves, on clear vinyl. After these are gone, we will release a "Totaalinen Kakkahata" LP - this includes both of the band's current seven inches. They have already recorded a third 7" but it's yet to be mixed so no exact news about the release schedule now..

Let's kick the new week off with great news.. we will release DEATHBED's next album sometime in 2009! The band has been writing new songs through the year and will soon tour Finland with DIE YOUNG (TX), and after that Germany on their own. All the members of DEATHBED are our old friends and all of them have played in bands that we have released in the past, so it feels good to continue doing stuff together - bands like this are the reason why we started doing the label in the first place, and continue doing it to this day! I WALK THE LINE just got back from their best tour so far, thanks again to everyone involved! Next up is a tour in Finland together with DISCO ENSEMBLE, who just received a gold record for their second album - pretty crazy!
VICTIMS will do a short tour in Germany with DISFEAR in the end of October, and will also return to Finland in the beginning of December!
We will release a new album called "Implosion" from Sweden's SMALLTOWN soon! We had been listening to their previous record a lot at the office and when they asked if we wanted to do the next one, well.. yes!!! Finally an update, it's taken way too long.. a lot has happened since the last time, both good and bad.. our shop/office was burgled AGAIN, we lost another computer, this time the one with the book-keeping and there internet things and so on.. it was summer so we also had to take it easy here and there.. and when we were at the office we were busting our asses with all kinds of shit - working on old, new and upcoming releases from old and new bands, new projects.. so, calm before the storm!! Here's an update of what's new in the CRI camp, now i am leaving for the I WALK THE LINE european tour - hope to see you somewhere along the way! After the tour there will be exciting news about all kinds of things..
Since the last update, we have released records from KARANTEENI, LIGHTHOUSE PROJECT and ROTTEN SOUND, pick them up if you haven't already - many of you have, thanks so much for that!
ABDUKTIO's current album "Thermidor" has received nothing but rave reviews in the Finnish media and also sold remerkably well here - not many people know this band outside Finland because of the language or whatever but do yourself a favor and check them out!
ANOTHER SINKING SHIP's debut album "Legacy" is still not out because of problems with the artwork - can't make any promises about the release anymore but hopefully someday, because it's an amazing record and will be worth the wait when it's out - if you were a fan of MANIFESTO JUKEBOX or WASTED, ANOTHER SINKING SHIP will surely make you happy!
THE HEARTBURNS's amazing "Fixin' To Die" album is still on heavy rotation here.. we will be releasing a compilation of their many sold out 7"s some time in the future!

I WALK THE LINE are leaving for the first European tour after the release of "Black Wave Rising" next week. Maukka of THE HEARTBURNS will be filling in on drums because IWTL drummer Jussi at the moment suffering from serious health problems, needs to have a surgery and can't do anything for a while now.. he should be OK in a couple of weeks though!
In other I WALK THE LINE news, "Black Wave Rising" is out now also in the UK and has received positive attention in the music press already - it got 7/10 in the current issue of NME and 3/5 in Kerrang!

VICTIMS will leave for their tour of the US/Canada next week, check out the dates and make sure to catch them live if you are around, the band is in killer shape!! We are down to the very last copies of the limited red vinyl of their amazing new album. The CD was sold out for a while but we just got the re-press, it's still packaged in a cool 8-panel digipak!
LIGHTHOUSE PROJECT have posted a blog on their homepage about their future plans.. in June we will release a 7"+DVD set called "Misanthropic Humanist" - this will be the first LHP recoding with new drummer Lauri. More about this and a lot of other stuff here : lighthouseproject.net
ANOTHER SINKING SHIP have finished recording their much anticipated debut album "The Legacy" - already the raw mixes sound really good! You can check out a song called Inches on their MySpace profile right HERE.
Then a bunch of I WALK THE LINE news - Black Wave Rising entered the national charts at #20 the week it was released - and this was a really hard week with lots of big new releases, the only ”alternative” bands ahead of IWTL were In Flames and REM, the others are really big finnish mainsteam bands/artists..
IWTL will play at the Columbia Club in Berlin on Friday April 25th with Disco Ensemble etc and will also do a short tour in Germany in May, check out the dates now!

I WALK THE LINE's Black Wave Rising! has been our fastest selling release ever, thank you so much people.. we are only releasing it in Finland so writing this in English is kind of pointless, but for the sake og avoiding confusion.. anyways, IWTL is the band of the week in both of the biggest punk rock webzines, CHAMBERS and ROKKIZINE . Sorry to everybody who has had to wait for for their orders to be delivered, mails to be answered and so on.. two of us three daily shitworkers got ill and/or had other kinds of bad luck at the worst possible time but now we have almost been able to catch up with things.
Those who have been able to work at the office, have also been extremely busy with getting things done here in Finland - luckily there is a good amount of interest for what we do here at the moment and this has been our first priority during the last few weeks.. it may be hard for people in other countries to picture this but the weeks they were released, THE HEARTBURNS entered the national sales charts at #17, ABDUKTIO at #30, I WALK THE LINE single at #12.. let's see how the IWTL album does :) Thanks for your countinued support, people!

ANOTHER SINKING SHIP have started recording their debut album "Legacy", due out in May. Their debut 7" made it to the Best Of 2007 picks in the current issue of Maximumrocknroll along with many other Finnish bands, including Kieltolaki etc..
I WALK THE LINE were among the first bands to be confirmed for this year's RUISROCK festival - it's the oldest ourdoor festival here and other bands include Interpol, Flogging Molly and so on..

I WALK THE LINE's long-awaited third album "Black Wave Rising!" is finally ready! You can check out the song Stigmatized on the IWTL MySpace profile . It combines the three main elements of IWTL - catchy as hell melodies, the punk energy and fresh synth sounds!
Black Wave Rising will be released in Finland on Wed April 2nd on both LP and CD on COMBAT ROCK INDUSTRY.

We have two new songs online for you guys now. The other one is a bit softer and not so fast one,
almost "poppy", one might say. It is called "Rosa Parks", a song about not giving up when shit hits the fan.
Hopefully you like it! The other song is more of an hardcore punk song, a fast one,
called "Äärimmäisyyksien aika". It is a song about the fact that even though we use terms like
"Dark Ages" to describe our past, the most violent and bloody age in the history of mankind is the one we are
currently living - the age of genocides, the time of extremities.
I WALK THE LINE's debut album "Badlands" has not been available on vinyl since 2004 but this unfortunate matter is about to be corrected! We have ordered a re-press of 500 copies and it will be available in a couple of weeks!

Somehow i had the feeling that the year 2008 will bring a lot of changes for us here at Combat Rock and boy was i right.. first ENDSTAND, now here is a message from MANIFESTO JUKEBOX :
"We have decided that the benefit concert for our German friends Stachel & Bombenalarm at Vastavirta, Tampere, will be our last. No drama, no fights. We just felt it's time to call it a day before things would fizz out altogether. Thanks."
This leaves me with a weird feeling - by no means was it a surprise and i definitely think it was the right decision that does justice to the amazing things the band did during these years. But this feeling.. it is about more than Manifesto Jukebox - MJ, ENDSTAND and WASTED were the three first Combat Rock bands and it was impossible to separate the bands and the label, they were so connected and those three bands pretty much set the path and made us who we are, they paved new ways and took Combat Rock and Finnish punk rock generally to new places we could not even have dreamed about. And now all of them are gone - well, maybe some of them will still take the stage some day but gone as the crazy touring hard working innovative life-defining bands that they used to be.
But COMBAT ROCK INDUSTRY is still very much here, even though it feels different now. We will continue to do our best for the talented hard working bands that move us - 2008 will be a great year for us : VICTIMS, THE HEARTBURNS, ABDUKTIO, I WALK THE LINE, ANOTHER SINKING SHIP and who knows what else.. OK maybe we do but we're not telling just yet :)

NINE had to cancel their tour of Finland due to family reasons. They are trying to come back before the summer though!
The VICTIMS "Killer" album has been further delayed because of the artwork thing but will be available in February on both vinyl and cool 8-panel digipak CD!
We now have the 4th pressing of the KAKKA-HÄTÄ 77 "WTC Räjähtää" 7", this time it's on clear vinyl.
I WALK THE LINE have been working on their upcoming album "Black Wave Rising" since late December and it's turning out great! There's raw fast punk songs that could almost be old WASTED stuff, as well as really melodic moments.. all in all there is just more energy and better songs than before so "Black Wave Rising" will definitely be one of the highlights of the year 2008!

The master of THE HEARTBURNS' "Fixin' To Die" album is finally ready and as expected, it's amazing! One of the best Finnish punk rock albums ever in our opinion, it is THAT good!! Just waiting for the artwork now..
UNKIND will play with VICTIMS in Tampere next Sunday and leave for a tour of Germany the next day!

Here's a message from ENDSTAND:
Last week we decided to take a break with the band. We canceled all the booked shows and will let the band be for a while. After 12 years of existence we came to a point where other things in life take so much time that there's no chance to concentrate on the band as much as we've used to. Well, Pekka is so busy with his theatre-studies and acting in theatres so he doesn't really have the time for the band. Guess that's the main reason that rest of us also got frustrated not being able to do anything for the band and that led to lack of motivation to even try for now. We really don't feel like finding a replacement for him since he's so damn good drummer, great on stage and an awesome person. And overall it's not so much of fun to start everything again by teaching the new guy old songs instead of doing something new.
Pekka is not the only reason for us to take this break – we talked about this all already on tour we did in October-November and it seemed that we all need to do something else in life, too. We always said that as long as it's fun, we'll keep on going and keeping on now would feel a bit forced. The tour was a lot of fun, but after that we all felt that we didn't have much to give for the band at the moment. So instead of destroying it all by trying to do it even though we really want to, we decided to take a break and see what will happen. Hopefully there's going to be a day again when we all have the burning desire to rock together again, but for now we'll do something else. As I wrote before, Pekka will be concentrating on theatre, Mika still has got his other band Deathbed (www.myspace.com/killedbybed) and Joel plays upright bass in a great country/rock band called Cold Call (www.myspace.com/coldcallband) and i will keep working on my label and recordstore Combat Rock Industry (www.fireinsidemusic.com / www.myspace.com/combatrockindustry) .
We'll see what the future will bring to us. For now, i want to thank every each of you for your support and interest for us. This band has brought so much to our lives – guess we don't even realise how big part of our lives it has been until we take a bit of distance to it... Hope we've brought some joy to your lives too. Don't know what else to say – I just want you to remember as a band that did what ever we wanted to. It's not about fashion, it's not to try to make us look cool, it's not about business or whatever... It's about passion, honesty and sincerity we feel for the music and shows we did and maybe, maybe we'll do it all again some day. Till that, take a good care of yourselves and your surroundings. Happy new year! Thanks to everybody who supported us in 2007, it was a great year! Here are some of the highlights.. we got to release an amazing live album from our favorite band ever, LAMA. Also doing stuff by the best finnish punk rock band since the end of the 70s, KAKKA-HÄTÄ 77 was a lot fun. I WALK THE LINE's "Desolation Street" was licensed by the legendary Gearhead in the US after which the band toured in Japan and the US. ENDSTAND released "Spark", their best album so far, after an amazing 11 years of action. LIGHTHOUSE PROJECT turned a lot of heads with their second album "Gift" and did a succesful tour all over Europe with ENDSTAND. There was a ton of other stuff going on too, we have now released over 50 records we can still say we are proud of every one of them!
2008 is going to be a killer too, we already have so many plans lined up! Here's a small update.
The release of the VICTIMS' amazing album "Killer" is unfortunately a bit delayed because of problems with the artwork. So the band will not have records with them on their tour of Finland, but of course you can easily pick it up from us as soon as we receive them. The CD version, in a super cool 8-panel digipak, will be available in late January and vinyl in February
THE HEARTBURNS' second album "Fixin' To Die" (named after blues legend Bukka White's song) has also been delayed because of the same reason. More info about the release, as well as sample songs, coming soon!
LIGHTHOUSE PROJECT have a new drummer - his name is Lauri and he has previously played in Satura Lanx. LHP are currently already working on new songs and will release a crazy 7"+DVD set this spring!
We just re-released ON A SOLID ROCK's classic "Steal It Back" album on CD. This band made a huge impact on the local scene during their short existence and their legacy lives on..
I WALK THE LINE are currently working in the studio on their much anticipated third album "Black Wave Rising". The album will be out in Finland in the beginning of April on Combat Rock Industry, elsewhere in the world on a bunch of great labels (to be announced soon) a bit later!

DOWN MY THROAT are calling it quits. Here is a statement from the band. RIP!
Due to lack of time and interest we have come to the conclusion that there's no reason to continue this band in this form. We're just too busy with other projects at the moment (and have been for a while now) and this band hasn't been going anywhere for a long time now since we really haven't had the energy to concentrate on it anymore.
I'm too busy making St.Hood sound bad with my sloppy playing and pretending to be a record producer/audio engineer and making other bands' records sound bad. Kristian is too busy tattooing his ugly drawings on local kids & lowlifes and living his wannabe "biker/rockabilly rebel" life. Born to be wild.... yeah right... you'll just make an ass out of yourself and fall down with that bike... again. Visse is just busy ruining Bolt. That band actually used to be quite good before this monkey started writing for them. Good luck to Bolt... you'll need it! Arttu is busy farting all day and playing drums for Cutdown. He's actually quite good at one of those things... guess which one? Jukka is busy giving people Diarrhea with his "delicious" cookings. Have a good time flipping burgers for the rest of your life mate!
So as you can see we're still very much around and will be making bad music etc.
Huge thanks to all the people who helped us out during these years of our existence, bought our records and came to our shows. We all had a blast and enjoyed every single moment of it!

TV party - not tonight but on Thursday!! ;) In Finland that is. I WALK THE LINE are playing two songs live on the national TV program Station T on the FST5 channel on Thu Nov 1st at 18:30. The subject of the program is the (do it yourself) punk culture and Combat Rock Industry will be interviewed there as well..
ENDSTAND's double compilation CD is (finally!) ready to be sent to the plant.. so it will be available by the end of November! It includes, among other things, the band's debut album "To Whom It May Concern" that was originally released on Impression Records in 1999 and only 1000 copies were pressed - it's still great stuff! There are also many even earlier releases that still kick ass..

I will post this here cos these people are our old friends, have helped us out countless times.. this is the worst nightmare for any touring band..
On Saturday 22.09. the Punk band BOMBENALARM was involved in a heavy Car accident
when one front wheel blown off and the Van rolled over several times.
Two persons got heavently injured and are still on intensiv care in the Hospital
while the rest of the band is more or less in a better state with more lighter
injuries and some of them are already out of the Hospital.
One of the person still on intensiv care is Stachel who runs UNSOCIABLE / HATE RECORDS.
Due the fact that we don't know yet for how long Stachel will be in the Hospital and

The next VICTIMS album will literally be a killer.. cos it's called "Killer"! The guys will start recording next week in an old church(!) in Gävle, Sweden and Ryan from the mighty Coliseum is working on the cover art already so you can expect killer quality all around! The album will be released in the beginning of January and crazy touring in mainland Europe and the US at least will follow!!

ENDSTAND and LIGHTHOUSE PROJECT are playing all-ages shows at Oranssi-Klubi, Helsinki this weekend! These are all to rare around here at the moment.. ENDSTAND plays on Friday with Turn The Tide and Heads Down, LIGHTHOUse PROJECT on Saturday with Satura Lanx - at this show you will be able to pick up LHP's new CD before it hits the stores here in Finland on Wednesday 26th!!
Actually it's a super Combat Rock weekend in Helsinki - if you are in the mood for more punk than hardcore, KAKKA-HÄTÄ 77 are opening for UK SUBS at Tavastia on Sat 22nd, and at the same time Anna & Antti of I WALK THE LINE are having their combined 30th birthday bash at the Fun Bowling Hall - it's open for everybody, free and Combat Rock & IWTL DJs are taking care of the music!

I WALK THE LINE have posted a new song on their MySpace profile! They have one show left before taking a break and focusing on their upcoming third album, to be released in spring 2008! IWTL will record at Seawolf Studios in Helsinki with engineer Mikko Poikolainen who has lately been working with a wide variety of artists, from jazz to the latest Hanoi Rocks album. The new song was supposed to be just a test recording to try out the new place, it was done just in a day, but things worked out so well that we want to share this with you as well.. so here it is, the new IWTL track called Monster! Welcome to the new and improved COMBAT ROCK INDUSTRY online HQ! From now on this thing will be only, or at least mostly,in English. It was too much for us to keep both English and Finnish sections updated and we had to choose. We hope also the finnish people will understand..
The KAKKA-HÄTÄ 77 hype here in Finland just keeps getting crazier! It seems we never mentioned this on the old English page but the "Totaalinen Kakkahätä" CD debuted at #15 on the national charts and at the moment everybody seems to want a piece of the band - if you follow the media here, you will see the name in the strangest places.. oh well, can't complain if good music is trendy for once! KH77 are playing two shows here In Helsinki this week, check them out if you are around!

UNKIND are currently in the studio recording their yet untitled new album.. the release date will be posted soon!
ENDSTAND will hit the studio next week. The album will be called "Spark" and it's going to be released in September.

We will release KAKKAHÄTÄ-77's both 7"s on a CD called "Totaalinen Kakkahätä" at the same time with the LAMA live album.. so you will be able to pick up the best of old and current finnish punk rock at the same time!! Also the second press of KH77's "WTC Räjähtää" EP is almost sold out but the third one is already on the way.

Sometimes the simplest things can get very hard.. especially in punk rock. But whatever, we finally have the material together for the live album by THE greatest finnish punk band of all time, LAMA!!! It will be released in July on LP/CD and features all the songs that got most of us here at Combat Rock into punk rock as teenagers so you can imagine how excited we are about this release, and we can promise you will be too when you get to hear it!
MANIFESTO JUKEBOX and A DEATH IN THE FAMILY are getting ready to record for their split LP/CD, to be released in September. Meanwhile ADITF is also playing shows over in their homeland Australia with AGAINST ME, THE DRAFT etc.. hopefully they will be back in Europe next year and MANIFESTO JUKEBOX will also tour down under sooner or later!
Swedish hardcore punk rockers VICTIMS have joined the Combat Rock family and you can expect the next album in a couple of months or so.. they just completed yet another crazy tour around Europe and from what we've heard the new songs are their strongest ever so get ready for a punishing album then!

NINE unfortunately had to cancel their tour because of vocalist Johan's shoulder injury that requires surgery.. they hope to re-schedule the tour for August/September.

Oops, been too busy with other stuff to remember to update this english site.. but here we go again!
We have 3 new releases out.
The new NINE album comes in a nice gatefold package, the fastest ones to order get limited clear vinyl! NINE just toured Finland and next time it's time for mainland Europe, the dates are posted now!
CONFUSA's self titled album comes on transparent red vinyl for the early birds.. this is a new band you should check out, i'd say for fans of La Fraction, Gorilla Angreb etc. powerful female fronted punk rock! CONFUSA will tour Europe in June, the dates will be posted soon. There are still a few open dates so if you want to help ot please get in touch with the band directly : confusa@confusa.net
And last but definitely not the least.. currently the most talked about band in Finland, KAKKAHÄTÄ-77!!! The first press of their second EP "WTC Räjähtää" sold out in about a week, now you can get the second press on yellow vinyl, with a button you can only get with this release. KAKKAHÄTÄ 77's snotty, catchy old school punk rock has won pretty much everybody around here over and in fact the EP is in Top 10 at the national charts at the moment! Strange but true!!
After three weeks of good times in the US, I WALK THE LINE is now back from tour.. but not for long, in the beginning of May they are leaving for 3 weeks in mainland Europe.
ENDSTAND are now a 4-piece band again as second guitarist Tapsa left the band because of personal reasons. So original members Janne, Joel, Mika and drummer Pekka decided to keep it simple and continue with one guitar - the same way the band started to begin with, and did fine for many years. Also label-wise it's back to where they came from, after one album with the metal label Lifeforce ENDSTAND are now back on COMBAT ROCK INDUSTRY!!! They will record a new album during the summer and tour Europe after the releases with friends and labelmates LIGHTHOUSE PROJECT, who are also coming up with a new album around the same time. More news about this soon!
ABDUKTIO will tour Europe again in May, most of the dates are posted now!!

I WALK THE LINE's US tour dates are online now! "Desolation Street" has now been re-released outside Finland on GEARHEAD RECORDS so most of you are able to get it cheaper & faster.. so, pick it up, no excuses :)
BOMBSHELL ROCKS are going to Japan in June! The dates are online now. "The Conclusion" will be released over there before the tour.
KIELTOLAKI was one of MAXIMUMROCKNROLL's staff favorites in the recent "best of 2006" issue - both 7"s are out in the US on Moo Cow Records but of course you all need the original Finnish edition of the amazing "Totaalisen Tuhon Huominen" 7", out now!
The test pressings of the CONFUSA LP and KAKKAHÄTÄ 77 7" sound totally ripping, and both records will be available in around two weeks. The NINE LP is a bit delayed but will be out in around a month.

Let's start the year with some great news... the new Helsinki-based band CONFUSA has joined the CRI family and their debut vinyl album will be released some time this spring! The CD will be on the new finnish label Seiskahai. CONFUSA plays straightforward, some would say early 80s influenced, punk rock with catchy/hysteric dual female vocals and put on a great live show - they will start booking their third euro tour for June soon, please get in touch with us or the band if you want them to rock your town!
