Singer/songwriter Derek Archambault is no stranger to the spotlight; he has spent the last four years on tour with progressive hardcore/punk band Defeater, and has had a solo project called Alcoa going for even longer. Alcoa's debut full-length, "Bone & Marrow," was recorded in mid-2012, first in Derek's hometown of Portsmouth, NH, then at Mike Moschetto's The Office Recording (N. Andover, MA) and at Jay Maas' Getaway Recording Studio for vocal tracks and mastering. Not unlike earlier Ryan Adams and Rocky Votolato efforts, "Bone & Marrow" is country-tinged with pop sensibilities; full of songs about life, love and regret. Rex Ritter's tour of duty with sunn O))) during Fontanelle's hiatus seems to have irreparably changed his DNA, as well as the band's. Adding an amazing array of horn players, Fontanelle has conjured a burly fusion jazz sound that has been dubbed "White Magus".

"SoniCRIME Therapy" seems to be a compilation of various tracks and ideas of G.I.S.M from over the last 10 years. Some stuff is actually familiar from the "Gai Individual Social Mean" video that came out in 1995. Also most material sound like its from different eras. Stylistically most tracks are late 80's mosh-metalish with hints of noise. SKV´s trademark growls and an ultranasty production lift this above avarage and there are a lot of dark and weird non-typical intervals in and between tracks. Most interesting piece is the "Phenomenal Exile In Schizophrenic Patients", a 20 minute compilation of noise tracks and aural soundscapes. The artwork is once again unbeatable. First time on vinyl!

To introduce the world to their recorded output, Hardside offered up an EP, "Crucified," in 2011 via 6131 Records.
